Our New In Person Assessor Product Training provides assessors and clinicians with access to product specific education as needed. This training option is designed to support accurate assessments, informed recommendations, and confident use of our range of products.
By completing the form, you can indicate which product you would like more training on and who the education is intended for. Once submitted, Kelly or Christopher - our Auckland Technical Product Specialists will contact you to coordinate a suitable time for a dedicated training session at our Livewell Store located in Albany, Auckland.
This training model allows education to be delivered efficiently and at the point of need, without relying on scheduled events, making it easier to access relevant product knowledge when it matters most.

In this webinar, we will discuss the fundamental criteria to consider when evaluating wheelchair seating for effective positioning of the pelvis for stability and support. Pelvic positioning is a critical element of a seating assessment and the most used secondary support for the pelvis is the pelvic positioning belt. This is important when the client has the right chair fitted with the right seat, back, and cushion but still has postural challenges. Over the years, the wheelchair and seating evaluation has become a very specialized process that focusses on matching the most appropriate equipment with the client’s postural and functional requirements. It is an important part of the rehabilitation plan, but often has a strong focus on the equipment itself.
A properly fitting wheelchair can increase a user’s function within the environment physically and socially and can improve overall quality of life. On the contrary, a poor fitting wheelchair and sitting posture can negatively affect the user’s health. An important aspect to proper fitting is to understand the biomechanics of the pelvis and spine and how they integrate to promote stability and function in with the seated client. Getting back to basics.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this course the attendee will be able to:
- Identify spinal and pelvic landmarks crucial to seated posture.
- Understand changes to spinal and pelvic anatomy as it pertains to development
- Learn how external seating and positioning devices can influence posture and mobility
